Tidy Up Your Email Security: New DKIM Tool for Exchange Online

Ever found yourself with old, unused email security settings cluttering up your Exchange Online? Microsoft has just released a new tool, the Remove-DkimSigningConfig command, empowering tenant administrators like you to directly clean up outdated email signing configurations (DKIM). This puts more control in your hands, reducing the need for support and simplifying management when domains are removed from your organisation.

Why This Matters for Your Organisation

  • Take Control: You no longer need to contact Microsoft support to remove outdated DKIM settings. You can handle it directly yourself, saving time and hassle.
  • Keep Things Tidy: Easily get rid of old DKIM configurations for domains you no longer use. This prevents clutter, reduces potential security confusion, and keeps your system lean.
  • Streamlined Management: This new capability gives you more power to manage your email security independently, making your administrative tasks smoother and more efficient without waiting for external help.

This feature is already enabled worldwide for eligible tenant administrators. To use it, ensure you have the Transport Hygiene management role or the Security Administrator role in Entra ID, and that you’re running Exchange Online PowerShell module v3.7 or newer. Then, you can simply connect and run the Remove-DkimSigningConfig cmdlet as needed.
