Get ready for a brilliant upgrade to how you find information in Classic Outlook! Microsoft is introducing a clever new Copilot experience designed to make your searches much more powerful and efficient. After you run a search, you’ll see an option to open the Copilot side panel. This panel will give you a smart summary of your results, pulling information not just from your emails, but also from documents and even your Teams messages. Plus, you can chat with Copilot right there, asking follow-up questions to get exactly what you need without digging through endless items.

This exciting new feature is expected to start rolling out from mid-December 2025 and should be fully available to everyone with the necessary Microsoft 365 AI licence by mid-February 2026. If you use Classic Outlook and have the Microsoft 365 AI add-on, you’ll automatically see the option to use this new Copilot search experience. While the feature will be enabled by default, you’ll always have the choice to opt-in to the AI-generated content within the pane.
